One of the proposed projects to be funded by our capital campaign is a renovation focusing primarily on the chancel area. While this renovation was originally focused on improving acoustics for the organ, the importance of improving the worship space has now taken on a greater meaning.

    With the many musical groups, youth groups, and worship services including weddings and funerals that use this space, greater flexibility is needed. The front staging area will be pushed out to the second row of pews. A single row of removable chairs will be added. A step up stage will allow for better visualization during special ceremonies such as baptisms and weddings. This new open stage design will greatly enhance special worship services such as VBS, music ensembles and celebration worship services.

    A major focus of our last building project 10 years ago was making the church more accessible for disabled and elderly people. It is now time to complete that project by making our worship space accessible for those folks. Easier access to the stage will be available and a ramp will be installed making the stage area completely accessible. Safety for our whole building will be improved with the installation of fire retarding doors in the sanctuary. And finally with some slight re-shaping of the arch and by adding some hard surfaces the acoustic improvements originally targeted can be achieved.
