Xtending Sundays
In the Gospel of John, we hear Jesus charge Peter to “Tend my sheep.” Often times the letter "X" is used as an abbreviation for Christ (X is the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word for "Christ”)
X-Tending Sundays will be every 5th Sunday during 2012. The Youth will be involved in “Christ Tending”, or tending to others as Christ has called us to do. Our tending will be specifically focused on those in our congregation that are homebound. Each Life Group will be partnered with a person on our Congregation Care list to tend with during 2012. Not only will our Youth provide tending, but our souls will be tended to as we build relationships with others in our congregation.

Congregational Support: Provide meals on X-Tending Sundays for approximately 25 teens and 10 adults. Chaperones/Drivers to transport Youth for visits Contact Audrey Wilder or Lynne Brenneman for questions or to help.

Souper Bowl of Caring
February 5
FUMC youth will hold soup pots at church doors on the Souper Bowl of Caring.  They will join young people in churches across the country to collect money for those who are hungry and hurting on a day when many Americans are focused on abundant food for Super Bowl football parties.  All money collected will go directly to Hershey Food Bank.  Since the Souper Bowl of caring began in 1990, more than $71 million has gone to help people in need.  Please drop $1 (or more!) in a soup pot as you leave worship on February 5.  Support the efforts of our youth to “love our neighbors”. See more info here.
