Rev. Karen W. Atanasoff was appointed Administrative Pastor of our
church on July 1, 2009. She served in the State College District for 17
years, at Town Hill United Methodist for five years and most recently served
First Church in Millersburg.
Pastor Karen grew up in Minnesota and was a graduate of St. Cloud University in
1978. After working as the Director of Camping for Minneapolis Camp Fire, she
attended Lancaster Seminary where she met and married Stevan Atanasoff, who is
currently serving as the pastor of Williamstown United Methodist Church. They
have two grown children, Andrew and Amber.
Pastor Karen served the Central Pennsylvania Conference in several areas. Some
of the areas included The Board of Ordained Ministry, Order of Elders
Steering Committee, as the Chair of Equitable Compensations, and as a camp dean
at Mount Asbury. She currently serves on the Board of Albright Care Services and
is a member of American Business Women’s Association.
She has a heart for mission and has been on teams in Uruguay, the Philippines,
PeeDee North Carolina, Middlefork, Kentucky as well as local missions.
