Richard Brenneman was named Pastor Emeritus of our church upon his
retirement on October 31, 1998 after serving as our Senior Pastor since 1990. He
previously served churches in Wrightsville, Fayetteville, Mansfield, and York.
From 1963-1970, he and his wife Lynne served as missionaries to Austria under
the auspices of the Board of Global Ministries. There he was first employed as
interim director of Warfield Haus in Salzburg, a home for older White Russian
and ethnic German refugees from Communist countries. The remainder of the time
he was pastor of an Austrian congregation in Vienna.
Richard received an A.B. Degree in history at Western Maryland College and an
M.Div. Degree from the Theological School of Drew University. He was also the
recipient of a Fullbright grant to the University of Muenster in Germany and a
participant in the Oxford Institute of Methodist Theological Studies at Oxford
University in England. In addition, he has done graduate work at Middlebury
College and Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
The Brennemans have four children and nine grandchildren.
