Adult Ministry (Director - Laura Gingrich)

A variety of small group adult education and fellowship opportunities are available. New groups can be initiated at any time and we will be happy to assist you in establishing a class that may be of interest to you and others. For further information on any class, feel free to contact Laura Gingrich at 533-9668 X116. Please note that child care is provided during most of our classes and meetings, but check the Nursery Schedule to make sure.

Sunday
  • 9:30-10:30 a.m. – Fellowship Class, Theology Class, Dan Lewis Class
  • 2:30-3:30 p.m. - Seeing Gray in a World of Black and White –  This 5-week Adam Hamilton study explores the political, moral and religious issues that divide us. Meets in the conference room.

Monday

  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. - Beginnings – Monday or Wednesday evenings
    An adult small group spiritual journey to explore the basics of Christianity.
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. - Disciple III Remember Who You Are - January 16 -April 8. We will complete the first 16 weeks this winter/spring and then complete the second half in Fall 2012. Participants in this 32 week study will read the major and minor Old Testament prophets, with the exception of Daniel, and will read the thirteen Letters traditionally attributed to Paul. To establish the historical context in which the prophets spoke for God, daily reading assignments draw also on the books of Deuteronomy through Chronicles. Located in the lounge. Cost: $35
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. - Financial Peace University - Learn how to get out of debt and handle money God’s way! January 16 - April 9 with free preview night on January 9. 13 life-changing lessons that teach Financial Responsibility with easy baby steps! Register early! First 8 family units - only $25! 75% off! Regular cost: $100 per family unit Located in Room 201 (Youth Room).

Wednesday

  • 6:30-7:30 p.m. ZUMBA Class - in the Social Hall. Register at the door; suggested goodwill donation of $5.00 per class.

Thursday

  • 9:30-11:00 a.m. Sisters - Knowing God
    Many women have been blessed with the “Sisters” offerings that have taken place the past two years at First Church. We hope you will consider joining us for the next Sisters series, Knowing God! You may choose either the Thursday or Friday morning for this sixweek offering. This study is for women who are hungry for the Word of God and want to be "women of the Word." During this series, we will focus on how to integrate The Bible’s teachings and truths into our everyday
    relationships, decisions, and challenges. Located in the lounge.

  • 12:00 noon - Senior Luncheon
    Lunch, fellowship and special program in the social hall. Meets 4th Thursday of each month.
    Pre-registration is required by calling the church office (533-9668) or signing up at the Welcome Center. (Suggested donation: $3.00-$5.00) Everyone is welcome! Invite your friends! Be sure to register your friends at the Welcome Center or Church Office when you sign up.

  • 7:30 a.m. - Winter Saturday Morning Men’s Breakfast
    January 14-February 18, 2012

    Men of all ages (youth to senior citizens) are invited to join together for the six
    week Saturday morning breakfast series, featuring good conversation and a
    brief time of devotion. All are invited to join in at anytime. Any of the Saturdays you are available, we would love to have you participate.
