UPCOMING CHURCH EVENTS

Below is a chronological listing of upcoming church events. Also check out our Calendar section for more activities and the Nursery schedule.

March 11 - “Demystifying Autism: An Inside-Out Perspective” with William Stillman -9– 4 p.m. - (registration at 8:30 a.m.) at First United Methodist Church of Hershey, 64 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey, PA. Join speaker William Stillman for an insightful, inspiring “inside-out” workshop. As a person with Asperger’s Syndrome, Bill provides a non-clinical, humanistic overview of the autism spectrum from the perspective of those who experience it: What is autism? What is it like to have autism? What is considered best practice in supporting others’ communication, sensory sensitivities, mental health and movement differences? He shares the many differences among people labeled with autism, including perspectives from his friends on the spectrum as well as his own experiences. More importantly perhaps, Bill shows us how we are all more alike than different, and participants will leave the day having experienced their own “autisms.” Download the registration form here.

March 14 - The Wheatland Chorale -3 p.m. - Since its founding in 1987 by Artistic Director Robert J. Upton, the Wheatland Chorale has earned a reputation as one of Pennsylvania's premier choral ensembles. The ensemble now numbers 39 singers, all volunteers, who are selected through audition. The choir's repertoire is very broad, and features selections from all periods.

December 7, 2010 - Journey to the Holy Land - Cindy and Pastor Gary Weaver invite you to deepen your faith in a profound way. On December 7, 2010, we will depart for an unforgettable “Journey to the Holy Land. This 10-day trip will help you experience the life and times of both the Old and New Testaments. The scriptures will come alive in a new way as you visit Corinth and Ephesus where Paul spread the gospel message; as you see the holy places of Jerusalem and Bethlehem; and as you spend time on the Sea of Galilee. I believe that this journey will strengthen our commitment to live out our mission of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

If you have any questions or would like a travel brochure please contact Pastor Gary Weaver, 717-533-9668 (office). Information is also available through Educational Opportunities online at www.eo.travelwithus.com.
